Formed in 2001, Visqueen is a power pop band from Seattle. Visqueen is fronted by singer/songwriter and guitarist, Rachel Flotard, whose strong voice has seen her backing up popular indie folk songstress, Neko Case. With Visqueen, Flotard creates a punk rock-influenced version of guitar pop, full of fuzzy distortion, root note bass chugging and catchy choruses. Flotard's vibrant voice cuts through everything, ensuring that a sense of melody doesn't take too much of a backseat to the comparatively raucous output of her bandmates. The band's debut album, King Me, was released in 2003.
