Dazz Band is a funk outfit that emerged out of Cleveland, Ohio, in the early 1980s. Initially formed as The Kinsman Dazz, the band signed a contract with 20th Century Records and released an eponymous debut album before changing its name to Dazz Band and dropping Invitation to Love, in 1980 with Motown records. The band went on release a series of successful records with Motown, particularly 1982's Keep It Live, which featured the Grammy Award-winning hit single "Let It Whip." Though the mainstream appeal of disco and funk declined with the 1990s, Dazz Band continues to perform and create new music for its dedicated audience.
