Randy Travis

Randy Travis is an American singer/songwriter who achieved widespread commercial attention in the mid-1980s with his 1985 breakthrough album Storms of Life. A major player in the nontraditional country scene, Travis racked up several platinum albums throughout the 1980s but saw a drop-off in popularity once the 1990s rolled around. Many attribute Travis's fall from grace to the fact that he changed his style from an accessible country/western style to a more defined gospel sound. Though still a recognizable name amongst many fans of country music, Travis hasn't managed to reclaim the popularity he possessed during his heyday in the 1980s.
