K.C. Accidental is an indie post rock band from Toronto that, despite only lasting for two years, became the basis for the now internationally renowned band Broken Social Scene. The band released two albums, Captured Anthems for an Empty Bathtub in 1998, and Anthems for the Could've Bin Pills in 2000, both featuring mostly instrumental music and were made available, at first, to a limited audience. Most of the band members, following the release of the second album, went on to join the band Broken Social Scene, where the inventive post rock style of K.C. Accidental was allowed to flourish and become heard by a much wider audience.
