Hyron Fenton is a rapper and MC from Houston who performs and records under the alias Hyro the Hero. His brand of rap music is defined by its rock and roll over tones, offering power chords to go with hard hitting rhymes. He established this sound with his first mixtape, Gangsta Rock, released in 2007. For his 2011 debut album Brith, School, Work Death, Hyro the Hero worked with Ross Robinson, the mastermind behind Korn, Slipknot and At the Drive-in. With a talent packed backing band and a rock-sensible producer, Hyro the Hero spans the genres of punk, psychedelic pop, funk, metal and grunge while he critiques pop culture throughout the album. His fearlessness to go outside the standard lines of rap feeds his critical opinions on other rappers, particularly mainstream rap artists, but has also allowed him to work with both rap and rock legends such as Jay Z and Deftones.
