Butcher the Bar

Butcher the Bar is the pseudonym for Manchester-based singer/songwriter Joel Nicholson. After signing to Morr Music in 2008, the acoustic folk-rock musician began receiving positive press throughout the UK, with many publications comparing him to a modern Elliott Smith. While Nicholson's voice does have an uncanny resemblance to the late Smith, Butcher the Bar doesn't create music quite as melancholy or forlorn as his predecessor, thus lending him a broader appeal.
