Maroon

Maroon is a metalcore band from Germany. Since they formed in 1998 as a straight edge band in Nordhausen, a small town in east Germany, all 5 band members used to be dedicated to the straight edge lifestyle. Back in these days, the topics of the band's lyrics usually revolved around animal rights and veganism; with the release of their second album Endorsed by Hate in 2004 the band's focus moved away from that topic accompanied by half of the band members dropping out of the straight edge lifestyle. This however repelled many of their former fans. The music of maroon is mostly metalcore with some influences of death and thrash metal.
