Even though the German power metal group Primal Fear has been making music together since 1997, the band has remained somewhat of a niche act with its operatic style heavy metal orchestrations. One of the possible reasons the group has not broken big in the metal scene could be the subject matter of the band's lyrics: science fiction stories that border on the morbid and opaque. One of these stories, off the band's 2002 album Black Sun, centers around a group of astronauts who visit an a never before seen planet with an individual who can see into the future.
