Parkway Drive

Parkway Drive is a metalcore outfit from New South Wales, Australia. Similar to like-minded contemporaries such as As I Lay Dying and In Flames, the five-piece combines the pummeling riffs and rhythms of metal with the brash intensity of hardcore. Parkway Drive formed in the relatively low key town of Byron Bay in 2003, taking its name from a local countryside road. Don't Close Your Eyes, the band's 2004 debut EP, caught the attention of Australian metal and hardcore fans, and by the following year the group had signed to Epitaph Records. Steadily releasing increasingly ambitious studio albums ever since, Parkway Drive has managed to carve out its out little niche in the crowded metalcore scene.
