Friendo

The side project of members of various Alberta, Canada-based bands including Women, Hunter-Gatherer and Monkey - Friendo is a trio of musicians who decided to swap their instruments of choice for others they didn't, at first, know how to play. The result might not be masterful musicianship, but it's more experimental and takes more risks than the band would likely have managed if the members had all stuck with the instruments they know. Choosing to release its work on cassette tapes, Friendo's debut shifts from lo-fi post punk to indie dream pop, and has won over fans of DIY music.
