More often than not, when a band tries to recreate a particular sonic aesthetic that existed during a specific time and place in history, it can warrant mixed results. Trying to breathe life into an erstwhile music genre can be dubious territory for a band trying to hone in on its niche style and more often than not the material that's created sounds hackneyed and desperate. The Italian band A Classic Education, however, produces interesting modern music that's clearly influenced by the past. Formed in 2007, the group would be perfectly at home during the American psychedelic pop craze of the 60s. Despite the fact that band's music undoubtedly nods to the sounds of yesteryear, there are also distinct modern influences in many of the band's songs that help add some context and depth to the group's distinct style.
