Tanz der Vampire

Inspired by Roman Polanski's 1967 film, Tanz der Vampire is a German-language musical set in the heart of Transylvania. Michael Kunze's music and lyrics explore a Gothic underworld populated by vampires and vampire hunters, innkeepers and innocents. It centers around a vampire pursuer and his bumbling assistant who takes a liking to the innkeeper's daughter at the inn where they stay. When she is kidnapped by a vampire, a haunting chase ensues. The musical has been widely performed around the world, a hit with audiences for its dramatic visuals and music, transporting audiences to the dark world of mythical Transylvania.
