Formed by Shawn Reed and Ryan Garbes after their previous band Raccoo-oo-oon dissolved in 2007, Wet Hair picks up where its predecessor left off, creating experimental synth-based noise music. While the duo has evolved its music to showcase a slight leaning toward melodic pop and organ-heavy psych, Wet Hair is still very much an experimental project. Devoting equal amounts of time releasing music on Reed's own Iowa City label Night People and the respected Los Angeles label Not Not Fun, Wet Hair has a fairly prolific catalog for the amount of time it's been a band, and continues to create new material on a fairly regular basis.
