Holstein-Stadion, located in the northern suburbs of the city, is famous among football lovers. Home ground to Holstein Kiel, a top class German football club, this stadium has a capacity of 11,386 which can be expanded to 15,000 during important events or matches. Apart from hosting football matches, Holstein-Stadion also serves as a live event venue, it stages live performances by established as well as upcoming artists and bands.
