Whipping Boy is an Irish alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. Formed in 1992, the band consists of Fearghal McKee (vocals, guitar), Paul Page (guitar, vocals), Colm Hassett (drums) and Ray Harman (bass). The band has released four studio albums, Heartworm (1995), Submarine (1996), Twinkle (1998) and Whipping Boy (2000). Whipping Boy's music is characterized by its melodic, guitar-driven sound, often featuring intricate guitar riffs and vocal harmonies. Their lyrics are often introspective and poetic, exploring themes of love, loss, and identity. The band has been praised for their ability to craft catchy, memorable songs that are both emotionally resonant and musically complex. Whipping Boy has achieved considerable success in their native Ireland, with their debut album Heartworm reaching number one on the Irish Albums Chart.
