Static-X is a metal band from Los Angeles, California. Wayne Static and Ken Jay formed the band as "Deep Blue Dream" in 1994, then renamed it in 1997. Band members of Static-X describe their sound as "Rhythmic Trancecore" and "Evil Disco." The band is heavily influenced by the sounds and styles of Joy Division, Ministry, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Prodigy.
