10cm (십센치) is an indie folk duo from Seoul that is comprised of singer/songwriters Kwon Jung Yeol (권정열) and Yoon Cheol Jong (윤철종). Since releasing its debut EP in 2010, 10cm has risen to become one of South Korea's premier independent acts, and has earned several prestigious music awards for its special brand of acoustic folk. The duo has also become iconic for their use of the djenge, an African percussion instrument, which is played by lead singer Kwon Jung Yeol in conjunction with his partner's acoustic guitar and backing vocals. 10cm's almost meteoric rise to fame has done much to bring independent music that much closer to mainstream recognition throughout South Korea.
