Hildegard von Bingen

Over the course of her life, Hildegard von Bingen managed to become a Christian mystic, a German Benedictine abbess, a visionary and a polymath - impressive for a woman living in the middle ages. Her impressive talents shone over into the world of music and several of her compositions are well respected pieces of classical work that stand up as acutely executed pieces to this day.
