Within the realm of experimental music there are few bands that are able to create cohesive songs that actually beg for repeated listens. The Swedish group Fontan is one of those few groups. The band's blending of quasi-ethereal instrumentation with driving rhythmic accompaniments produces easily accessible music that's easy to move to and slowly absorb. The nice thing about this group is that its music can be taken in at a sweaty, packed club with a bunch of bodies moving rabidly to the music, or it can be enjoyed, just as much, as background noise - adding layers of nuanced ambient sounds to a conversation or dinner party.
