Carly Rae Jepsen is a singer/songwriter from British Columbia who is best known for her hit single "Call Me Maybe." Though she finished third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol in 2007 and released her debut album Tug of War, in 2008, Jepsen captured an international audience with her radio hit, "Call Me Maybe," in 2012. The first single off her her Curiosity EP, the song made her the first Canadian artist to reach the top of the digital chart since Justin Beiber's 2010 hit, "Baby." Hailed by many mainstream sources as pop music's next rising star, Jepsen released her sophomore record Kiss, in 2012 and her critically-acclaimed E·MO·TION in 2015.
