In the late 90s there was an explosion of dance punk bands to emerge out of the United States. These groups incorporated strong synth lines and computerized composition with surgical-like drumming and distorted guitars to create a unique style of music that seemed to intrinsically connect with the youth of the day. While some of these bands faltered and ended up not doing much of anything, some carried on and are still releasing music to this very day; one such act is the Ohio-based band Gil Mantera's Party Dream. The group formed in 1999 and with its bass-heavy tunes and extremely dance-friendly rhythms, it has managed to find a substantial fan base.
