When North Carolina-based musician Benny Boeldt released the debut LP under his Adventure guise in 2008, many of the tracks he was crafting pulled heavily from the emerging 8-bit, or chiptune, genre. As Boeldt started creating more and more original tunes, though, he started to outgrow the confines of blips and blaps that are so characteristic of 8-bit music. He still holds onto some deep rudimentary understanding of chiptune style, but Boeldt has recently started to incorporate stronger elements of electro into his sound and the results have proven Boeldt's worth as a producer who's capable of evolving with the times and incorporating various elements from different electronic genres and sub-genres to bolster his forward thinking sound.
