Bob Geldof

Irish singer-songwriter, activist, and musical figure Bob Geldof has developed many well-known roles. First as a member of seminal Irish punk band The Boomtown Rats where he was the principle songwriter. Geldof went on to co-found the famous Band Aid/Live8 festivals, which were large, controversial events that were meant to raise money for AIDS treatment in Africa. Geldof's role as an activist has made up the majority life after music, though at the turn of the 21st century Geldof began releasing some of his own solo material.
