Canadian four-piece Basketball barrage listeners with a variety of world styles, genres and instruments. Expanding its influences beyond its native Vancouver, the group splices together chaotic dance punk, world beat electro, African tribal rhythms and a hefty dose of Middle Eastern instruments and melodies. As if its influences weren't diverse enough, the group also meshes the Bosnian and English languages, all in chanted form, and layers the chants over its spastic beats. While Basketball's music might not be particularly smooth or cohesive, it's riotous, dense and difficult to dislike.
